Privacy Policy
KoolAssist is operated by Kool Telecom Inc. ("Kooltel"). Last updated: 30 August 2026.
KoolAssist is self-hosted remote support software. This policy explains what data is involved when you run a remote support session and the choices you have.
Self-hosted & end-to-end encrypted
KoolAssist sessions run through Kool Telecom's own relay infrastructure and are end-to-end encrypted. Your screen contents, keystrokes, files, and clipboard exchanged during a session are not sent to any third-party remote-desktop cloud and are not stored by us.
Information involved
- Connection data — the temporary device ID and one-time access code used to establish a session, and the network address needed to route the encrypted connection.
- Session content — screen, input, files, and clipboard are relayed between the two devices in real time to run the session. They are not recorded or retained by KoolAssist.
- Technician accounts — if you use the KoolAssist admin console, we store your account name, email, and password (hashed) to authenticate you.
How we use it
Connection data is used solely to establish and route the encrypted session. We do not sell data, we do not use session content for advertising, and we do not share it except as needed to operate the service or as required by law.
Consent & control
A remote session only begins when the person at the remote computer shares their access code and accepts the connection. Either party can end the session at any time.
Retention
Session content is not retained after the session ends. Technician account data is kept while the account is active. To delete an account or ask about data, contact us below.
Security
Sessions are end-to-end encrypted and connections use TLS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect you.
